What is "teletherapy"? Sometimes also called telemental health, online or video therapy, "Skype" therapy, it is a form of therapy conducted utilizing a HIPAA-compliant, secure video software developed specifically for therapeutic services. There are no additional costs for teletherapy - I use the same fees and session length structure as for my in-person sessions!
Benefits of teletherapy
One of the greatest advantages of teletherapy is that it allows us greater flexibility in scheduling, and also allows you to seek out services if you are unable to come to a physical location or have limited providers in your area. Current research demonstrates that teletherapy may be as effective as in-person therapy for individuals, although it is not always the best fit for everyone.
I can provide teletherapy to anyone currently residing in the state of Texas.
requirements for teletherapy
During our initial consultation, I will ask you a few questions to determine if teletherapy is a good fit for you. Throughout our work together, we will continuously evaluate whether teletherapy remains effective for you.
There are certain technological requirements for conducting teletherapy. You do not have to be tech-savvy (or know much about digital devices at all!) to be able to connect. I simply send you a link, and you get connected to me. I will help you troubleshoot issues, as well.
I currently utilize SimplePractice Teletherapy, and below are their device and Internet connection requirements:
